Sub Rosa, Single-channel Video, 2011
This project, entitled, "Sub Rosa," was the start of my research into the relationship between metadata and object. This work was shown in the second year graduate exhibition called, "Double Random." I purchased a rose at a local flower shop and dismantled the rose into discreet parts. I then flattened the parts and scanned the textures into a computer. I placed the textures onto a 3D model of the rose that I built in Autodesk Maya and placed data directly onto the surface of the model. Here you can see stills and video from the animated projection in Penn State's Zoller Gallery.
